EliteOlympus: Fitness AI tracker
Lessons from an AI Fitness Platform
In October 2023, I launched EliteOlympus, an AI-powered fitness SaaS platform designed to offer users a complete health and fitness experience. The platform integrated several features to help users lead healthier lives:
- Meal Tracking: Allowed users to log their meals and snacks, providing detailed insights into their eating habits.
- Personalized Meal Plans: Generated custom meal plans based on user preferences and dietary goals, complete with a grocery shopping list.
- Food Scanning: Enabled users to scan food items via barcodes or photos, delivering detailed nutritional information.
The platform was built using Next.js for the frontend and PostgreSQL for the database, ensuring fast and scalable performance. While it attracted 100 initial users, EliteOlympus failed to retain them due to the lack of key features and the limitations of being a web-only app. This resulted in $0 MRR revenue.
Lessons Learned
EliteOlympus taught me the importance of understanding user needs, prioritizing essential features, and the necessity of launching apps on multiple platforms. By limiting the platform to a website, I missed out on reaching users who prefer app-based solutions on marketplaces like Google Play and the App Store.
Moving Forward
Although EliteOlympus didn’t achieve success, it was an invaluable learning experience in product development and market fit. Moving forward, I’m determined to apply these lessons to future projects, focusing on delivering robust features, enhancing user engagement, and expanding availability through app stores.
